I did not enjoy grocery shopping with two kids in tow. Plain and simple. It usually ended in them fighting or whining all the way through the store. That is until Heritage Meadows Superstore opened. It opens early which is a bonus with the kids. I get in and out before 9 am when the kids are the most alert. But the main reason I enjoy it so much is that no matter what time of the day we chose to go there is always a firetruck.
Yep a firetruck. Sometimes more than one. The kids now know it as the firetruck store and try to be the one to find it and point a Calgary Fire Department truck out first. They are usually parked by the front of the store and the kids love that the firemen wave at them. My son usually stops and watches for a while and marvels at the truck and then I am able to get some time in shopping in the store. He’s also quite excited to get to the fruit section where we usually find more firemen picking up supplies.
My daughter always says when she sees a firetruck – “firemen are helpful”. She has no idea how helpful 😉
Any places you find you can get your chores done while still managing to keep the kids entertained/occupied?
