With Balzac Billy predicting 6 more weeks of winter, you and your family might be ready for a little weekend getaway. My husband, daughter and I recently stayed at the Delta Lodge at Kananaskis Resort. Only a short drive from Calgary, this resort is a great place to escape for a weekend and have some quality family time too.
Advertised as a family friendly destination, the Delta more than lives up to its claims. Upon check-in, we were given a goody bag for Hannah, complete with light-up toy, magnetic game, and a few other special treats. The room we booked was called the Family Room, and it was perfect for the three of us. In the main portion of the room, there were two Queen sized beds, and there was also an attached pie-shaped room that had another Queen sized bed and television. The extra room was perfect for Hannah, and we were able to stay up later in the main room and watch television at night without disturbing her.
Another great feature about the Delta is the Children’s Creative Center. If offers a small indoor playground area, as well as games, chalk wall, and other fun activities. If your child is 4 or older, they also offer packages where children are supervised in the center, and parents can enjoy a quiet dinner for two. If your child isn’t quite old enough for that option, or if you want to have more family time, meals in one of the several restaurants is free for anyone under the age of 6 and discounted for those under the age of 12.
Other benefits are the outdoor skating rink, indoor heated pool, spa services, babysitting services, and the ability to take along your family pet.
All in all, we were very happy with our decision to stay at the Delta Lodge at Kananaskis Resort, and we cannot wait to go back again.
