More ornaments

by Danielle

We started a tradition last year of gifting ornaments to extended family and close friends.  My daughter decorates them, writes her name on the them and then we send them for family to enjoy on their trees.  Last year’s ornaments were wooden.  This year’s are clay.  I found a kit at Costco but you could easily pick up the items at the craft store as well.

Supplies:

paint, paintbrush, glitter paint, clay ornaments

I basically let my daughter go wild!  That meant a lot of clean up after but she enjoyed it tremendously.  She mixed colours to see what she could create and even though she painted things a little against the norm – they still look great and with the clay shape people can still tell what they are!

Once the paint was dry I let her use the glitter pens to add embellishments to the ornaments.

So if you’re looking for a gift for the grandparents & aunts and uncles.  Ornaments are fun to decorate and special for the recipients to hang on their tree!

Danielle is mom to a 3.5 year old daughter and 1.5 year old son and always looking for fun things to do with the kids.  She blogs at Four Days Home.
