It’s that time of year! The Christmas markets are starting up. It may seem early but these are fun places to get ideas for gifts.
We took the kids down to the Millarville Christmas market this morning. It opens at 10 and we left the city shortly after that to make the 45 minute drive. It was packed!! We followed a traffic jam along the rural road into the market area. I would suggest going closer to noon since once we left the place was much more reasonable for parking. Parking costs $10 per car but there is plenty of it.
Dress appropriately for the weather as many of the stands are outdoors. If you plan to bring a stroller bring the smallest one possible as it is very crowed and difficult to move around the indoor booths. There is everything here! Food, art, clothes, etc. The kids will love all the samples – make sure you stop by the hot chocolate table for samples! The place smells incredible and there are outdoor food concessions as well. At 1pm Santa’s Workshop opens and for $2 if your child is over the age of 5 you can leave them for 1 hour to decorate cookies while you shop (very helpful!). There are hay rides, pony rides, carollers and photos with Santa. The market’s last day runs Sunday Nov 7th from 10-5pm so be sure to head down with the family and enjoy the fun!
Danielle is mom to a 3.5 year old daughter and 1.5 year old son and always looking for fun things to do with the kids.
