Month in review – October

October has just flown by!  We started this blog with 2 posts from September starting the fall off with leaves and pumpkins and have had great response about the site.  Thank you all and please pass the site along to your friends!

In case you missed any of our posts from this last month – here we go!

Attractions for kids

We went all over the city, from going back in time at Heritage Park, bird watching at the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary, going for a coffee where the kids can run and play.  We took a fall walk in a local park.

We also found out how to score the best concert tickets online and find an iPhone app of an art walk.

We took an art class through the city.

Out of town

We went biking with the family in Canmore and hiking with the kids up a mountain in Banff.  We also headed up North to Drumheller to visit dinosaurs.

Books

We learned about audio books and where to find some of our favorite authors work.

Crafts & Fun

We learned about bath time fun, painting with the kids, making binoculars to take bird watching, making pretty birthday crowns and visiting construction sites with the proper terms for the trucks.  We shared links for great online resources for crafts and cute paper dolls.

Parenting Tips

This month we talked about the importance of being aware of kids with allergies and how to make it easier for them when you host an event.  We also talked about cutting your kids’ hair, and giving something other than candy out at Hallowe’en.  We also learned how to hold a block party to get to know the neighbours and how to survive a move with the kids.

Hallowe’en meant talking about how to keep the kids safe on haunting night.

Travel Tuesdays

We launched a new series called Travel Tuesdays – here are Part I, Part II and Part III.

Sponsors and Giveaways

This month we welcomed Nayla Natural Care, Eko Bear and Apples n Oranges to our list of sponsors!
